On a Rainy, Cold Day in January in Payette County

Bill Betts reporting,
Our Fearless Leader, Genny, has been scouting for the benefit of you, the club members. She can be persuasive--proof in the picture. The tempature might have been 40, hah, it did rain, but, hey, the wind did not blow. Couldn't have asked for a nicer day, huh? Well, pretty good for the middle of January which does not really explain why we were looking for mushrooms. Genny was hoping to find oysters. Instead we found a dead white goat, a dead white chicken and a beaver paw. Sorry, forgot to get pictures of those. Ask Reta about the beaver paw. We did find a big polypore growing on a live maple along the Snake River on Payette's Greenbelt Walk near their fishing pond. And we found the A and W in Payette where I had a mushroom burger. Best mushroom of the day. Oh, yes, we found two other mushrooms that I did not get good pictures of, but Genny and Reta did. Genny, of course knows what they are. Maybe she will post her pictures. Genny?
