Gar, What you have found is a typical winter fruiting of Pleurotus, aka Oyster mushroom. They look like they fruited late in the fall or early winter before the really cold snap. Keep a watch on this stump for new fruitings. These are good to eat if the bugs and mold have not attacked them. Great picture - good find. Genny steiner
